The 2013 annual meeting of the International Lighting City Association (hereinafter referred to as Luci) will be held for the first time in Guangzhou from November 13 to 16. It is the second Chinese member city to hold Luci annual meeting after Shanghai in 2006. The participants will focus on the urban lighting construction in Guangzhou, investigate the local lighting projects, enjoy the gorgeous night scenery of the Pearl River, and explore and exchange the distinctive lighting design planning of other metropolises in China, such as Shanghai, Beijing and Chongqing.

It is reported that the annual meeting of the International Lighting City Association is an international exchange conference initiated by Luci. It is an annual event for global urban lighting managers. At this annual meeting, Luci members from more than 60 countries and regions around the world and nearly 100 representatives of Chinese urban lighting managers, lighting experts, lighting designers and lighting engineers will gather in Jinqiu Yangcheng to share urban lighting construction experience, development strategies and excellent lighting engineering cases, and explore the problems and challenges existing in the development of urban lighting.

In recent years, through scientific planning and construction, energy-saving transformation of street lamps, optimization of landscape lighting facilities and other measures, Guangzhou has comprehensively upgraded some important streets and landscape lighting facilities, and used lights to create tourist attractions focusing on both sides of the Pearl River and the central axis of the city, such as Guangzhou tower, Haixinsha and Haizhu bridge. In addition, Guangzhou has also vigorously promoted the application of LED lamps in urban landscape, underground tunnels, subway stations and historical sites. At present, about 110000 LED lamps have been installed, which has effectively promoted the pace of green and low-carbon development in Guangzhou.
